A trip to Neema Crafts in Iringa, Tanzania

Dec 24, 2017 - 0 comments

Last month I was lucky enough to make the trip to Tanzania to visit Neema Crafts and see meet many of the 120 artisans who hand make all our lovely products for our online shop. My aim was to record their stories so that you will know exactly who has made each product and the difference working at Neema Crafts has made to them. For any visitor to Neema Crafts there is the opportunity to visit the different parts of the workshop - tailoring, weaving, woodwork, paper making, ceramics and screen printing. There is also an award winning cafe where every member of staff is deaf, a conference centre, a physiotherapy unit and a guest house where again all the staff are deaf which is we stayed.

The picture here features the shop with a selection of the products that they sell. It gave us the opportunity to plan what we would like to sell online in the new year like these beautiful hand screen printed lampshades.
