Thomassi makes the tassels for our cushions. He says: “In 1993 I was playing football
when I found I had no strength in my legs and I could not stand, walk or run. My sister
looked after me and I started to move around with a stick. I carried on with my small
business selling alcohol but it was not until 2005 that life started to improve.
I got a job at Neema Crafts and started in the paper workshop making notebooks. Regular
money was coming in and I could afford more things.
In 2007 I got married and I now have one child. Money goes towards our farm where my wife works and we can grow our own crops. I now have crutches which Neema bought for me so I can move around more easily. I would love to have my own house one day as well as a small business.”
Hand screen printed ethnic look cushion in three colour ways. Plain fabric on back with a concealed zip.
